Role: Animator / Editor
I Took My Avocado to Aspen, Colorado is an upcoming stop-motion animated film written and directed by Mark Roberts (Mike and Molly) of Bad Mule Inc., adapted from his poem of the same name. This film noir uniquely tells the story of a fraught relationship with a tasty green fruit, full of intrigue, betrayal, murder, and guacamole. Narrated by Joe Pantoliano (The Fugitive, The Matrix, Memento, The Sopranos), this film was an honor to animate and bring to life.
A "mobbed up" gopher treats his avocado associate to a lavish weekend of private planes, fancy hotels and expensive gifts, lulling the unsuspecting fruit into a blissful stupor, before tossing him off a high-rise balcony. This animated evolution of a film-within-a-film is a stop-motion journey filled with danger, intrigue and rhymes.
